Experienced in all aspects of the business

As early as 1968, there was already high demand for fast, mobile, and modern teams to carry out ship inspections and ship bottom cleaning. The founding of Hansataucher by Leopold Krüger and Claus Günzlein was therefore a logical conclusion. Thanks to the consistently high quality of its work, Hansataucher GmbH has firmly established itself in this segment. The company quickly expanded into construction diving and services for public authorities, shipyards, shipping companies, and civil engineering firms.

We became indispensable for projects in Hamburg such as the construction of the Elbe tunnel in 1970 and 2001, the expansion of all container terminals, and the construction of ship lifts and locks.

Hansataucher expanded its range of services through continuous training and adaptation to the increasing demands of its customers. Since 2003, specially trained explosive ordnance disposal divers and clearance site managers have been working for our customers. Crane and survey vessels manned by specialist personnel were one of the basis for concluding the framework agreement “Explosive ordnance clearance work on water surfaces” with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

At the same time, the areas of ship and structure inspections, repairs, and certified underwater welding work continued to develop very well. Thanks to the completion of a large number of successful projects, we now have access to an international network and extensive experience. In 2013, we received certification from Shell, followed by GL certification as a specialist underwater welding company in 2014.

We train our divers in areas such as welding and inspection of underwater structures and ships.

Hansataucher's base and office have been located on the northern Elbe since 1982, and since 2010 it has had its own port facility. This central location ensures immediate operational readiness throughout northern Germany.
